  1. Hey everyone, I'm Lolos and I have a question for everyone, hope u guys can help me. I recently brought a WD 1tb external harddrive about a month ago. I got it and hooked up it and it was working great. Two weeks ago my computer wouldn't reconigze it and my laptop would freeze. I restarted it and it would start and show the windows xp logo and then a black screen. Black screen would stay there and nothing would load. I went ahead and started my laptop in safe mode and my laptop sees my external harddrive and works just fine. I don't know whats going on, can you help me please.

    Thanks
    Lolos

Try booting the computer, then connect the HD.

    Should solve the problem.

Well I did scan for malware and it was clean. I do try to plug the External Harddrive while the laptop is already on and running. But It just Freezes my laptop and I have to restart. Then that black screen comes on and stays there.
