Weekend Open Forum: Do you own a tablet? If yes, what is its primary use?

I've owned a Kindle Fire, which I used as a tradein towards the PS4.

I have three other tablets from Koby. Stay away.

I don't know if I will buy a tablet in the future, but if I do it will be from Amazon, Google, Apple, Samsung or Microsoft.

I just recently bought two tablets. The first - an iPad Mini. I use it for tracking diabetes and for car navigation. It replaces a Pocket PC I bought in 2006

The second is a Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. I am working on putting together a remote control for my home theater using "Command Fusion."

The way I look at it, both were essentially utilitarian purchases. Browsing and other simple activities were not really considerations for my purchases. In addition, each are WiFi only.

Bought myself the Tegra Note 7 (EVGA) last year and I am surprised how much I like it. Was the best bang for the buck and it compliments my other devices perfectly. I primarily use it as a consumption device for web browsing, reading ebooks, or reviewing work / emails when I don't want to be tied down to my laptop/desktop. I also use it for gaming and general entertainment such as movies, podcast, and music streaming. Overall I am very happy with it, and can understand why some consumers who don't do much prefer tablets.

I have a nexus 7 and use it all the time to browse the web and check email while I am watching tv since I dont have a laptop. I also use it to monitor my fantasty sports teams while I am watching the games.
