Weekend Open Forum: What type of keyboard do you use?

I use a kinda crappy microsoft keyboard Wish I had a logitech one ^^

I use a basic logitech PS/2 keyboard(quite noisy when I type =/) I really like the look of the Saitek Eclipse 2 and Logitech G11 keyboards.

was more useful when I used to play wow, but it's still nice to sometimes play a movie thru the keyboard display while doing something else taking up all my screen realestate. + I really like the keyboard layout.

I have a G15 V1 that I haven't used in a while. I'm currently on a HP Wireless Elite Desktop, sans the mouse, I like them both. In the retired/backup ring I have a Mitsumi PS/2 keyboard bought early 2000s, that was such a good keyboard. =/

Oh right, reasons. V1 cuz I wanted the programmable keys, and didn't feel arsed enough to "upgrade" (I liked the V1s look compared to V2). The HP keyboard was because it is MUCH quieter than the V1 in terms of its short keystrokes, and it is far more compact to keep around in smaller work areas (I can put it in my laptop bag too). The wireless is an added bonus.

Thinking about buying that logitech illuminated keyboard... but I hate having the elongated delete key since I actually USE the insert key.

Unlike keyboards, I've used the original Logitech Cordless Click! for the better part of 6 years, I won't stop using them until I can't buy them on ebay/amazon/insertfavoriteonlinestore.

I've been trying to find the ideal keyboard for quite some time and few years back I've finally found it - Logitech Ultra X Premium. No keyboard comes even close to the typing comfort and speed of this keyboard if you need to type a lot (as I do). It's so good I've got bunch of them and its quality has made quite a few people I know to "convert" as well when they tried it.

Not to confuse with Logitech Ultra Flat, though, which is an entirely different keyboard altogether and much, much worse.

Dinovo Edge, love it. Had the original Dinovo before it.

Currently using a Logitech Wave corded keyboard. I like the feel, the positive feedback when the key makes, the fact that it defaults to function keys not secondary functions like the Microsoft Natural. I do wish it had an options key, but sooner or later I'll get around to using AutoHotkey to redefine the Fn key that replaces it, to give me a choice.

A Logitech EX110 Wireless keyboard, when I have to do lots of typing it's really laggy, I could defo use an upgrade. lol. But it's served me over the years, has done a great job at it too.

Logitech Lx710 wireless/laser combo, works ok, but weak RF signal. If I use the mouse more than a meter away from the receiver, it resets the mouse location randomly. I can live with it dough....

Logitech Illuminated

wireless mi keyboard I picked up at walmart several years back. Its not too bad, and doesn't eat batteries very fast. The mouse that came with it on the other hand needed new batters like every other week. So for mouse I use GIGABYTE GM-M6800 mouse. works pretty nice.

What the signal distance you guys can get with your keyboards?

Used Logitech wave wireless keyboard for about 1 and a half years but it's wireless connection is not reliable at all read not a gamers choice now im using the sidewinder x6 keyboard which i think is very good value so it'll stay on my desk for a long time

Using the old Northgate Omnikey Plus. Best keyboard ever built.

I used to have a Logitech G15, the original one with the blue lit keys. It served me well during hour long sessions of Battlefield 2 and Counter Strike. I liked the macros; they helped in games as well as simple functions in Visual Studio. However, after about 4 years, the keyboard doesn't seem to respond to keys and sometimes they get stuck.
This is understandable, as I've dropped it off of the tray quite a few times and it's gotten quite grimy.

I also had a Logitech Revolution MX mouse. It too served me well for a couple years, until about a week ago when the scroll wheel broke.

I've replaced both of them with a brand new Microsoft Sidewinder X6 keyboard and Sidewinder X8 mouse. So far, so good. They definitely feel quite hefty, like they can stand punishment, so I expect them to last a good while.

Microsoft Wireless Desktop 4000 here... Very comfortable for long-period of typing, but a big-no for gaming due to the latency and 'wireless typicality'.

Razer ProClick V1.6 for the mouse, since I accidentally broke the original wireless mouse that came with it.

My favorite keyboard of "ALL Time" was the Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 Keybaord (& Mouse).
...It had rechargeable batteries & lots of GREAT keyboard features...

This combo had some HUGE downsides:
1-TOO Expensive ($299!!!)
2-POOR hardware quality
---I returned 3 of them because of keyboard problems & mouse problems
3-Transceiver Size too Big... For that much money, you would have thought it would have come with a "micro" transceiver
4-Junky Mouse included with the Combo Package
---It should have included a more technologically advanced mouse with more features & better resolution
5-It would have been better if the keyboard could have been purchased as a separate option with the Hardware Quality "dramatically" improved
It was a Very Good idea from Microsoft that was NOT implemented very well!!!

I am still looking for my IDEAL Keyboard & Mouse!!! ;-)

In addition to my "Troll Master 10,000", I also use an assortment of M$ keyboards. The "Comfort Curve" style seems to be the best for me.

One problem I keep having though, is that the receivers seem to be junk. They keep breaking on me, and the "2.0" series wasn't detected on resume from S-3. (At least on one of my machines, an Intel 965WMHK board). ( know that was the number, but I only think those might have been the letters).

The last receiver that failed was plugged into a PS/2 port, and for all the world sounded like the hard drive had failed. It was clicking and banging badly enough, that I'm actually surprised it didn't have to be replaced as collateral damage!
