Weekend Open Forum: What were some gadgets that didn't get the recognition they deserved?

Dreamcast-Zune-LaserDisc-AMD socket 939.

I have an old socket 939 build with an Opteron 165 I'm planning on refurbishing. Retention clip snapped on the after market cooler. Would like to do a water cooler but so far no luck finding one that works on 939.

Dreamcast was literally the "arcade machine" in your home at the time. so many great arcade ports on it. Definitely Soul Calibur, Virtua Fighter 5, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Virtua Tennis, Crazy Taxi, Daytona USA, 18 Wheeler, Sega Rally 2 & Virtual On: Ontario Tagram!

Sony MiniDisc - a giant leap in recording/playback quality.

SyQuest EZ-Drive. 135Mb instead of 1.44 Mb floppy. And I worked.

And I miss my old Akai reel 2 reel tape recorder with external DBX noise reduction system.

Neo Geo Pocket Color. Hardware wise it was better than the competing Gameboy Color at the time. Sadly due to poor marketing in the US it died off. I only had two games for it. Still have it but might sell on eBay, along with my Gameboy Micro.

Surface RT. IE on their is actually useful, not to mention it has a HDMI out and is better at WiFi than any of my Roku boxes. Ended up selling my Roku on Ebay and just started using the Surface with a HDMI out cable for Hulu and Netflix.

Gotta say for me it'd be the Blackberry Playbook never getting bb10 was a huge missed opportunity. The other would be the Zune HD which is the basis for what became windows phone. still have my Zune HD hooked up full time to my car through Microsoft sync. Zune was just late to the party...

DVD audio discs and Super Audio CDs both sound fantastic (24bit 96khz audio in surround sound!) but they failed because they were in competition with each other and they stupidly had drm to prevent people from burning the high quality audio to their PCs.

Love my surface RT super long battery life HDMI Office and auto syncs right to my pc or phone.
