    To sell WiFi at higher speeds everyone in manufacturing of electronic gear would have to come to some new standards in WiFi Gigabit Speeds if not then it's going to be 802.11N 150/300mbps. Anything higher just wasted. 802.11ad would be a huge leap over 802.11ac specs. But again if you don't have hardware that support those new standards then never going to take advantage of the new tech.
