Weird video problem Ati radeon 1150 IGP

my inspiron 1501 laptop has been acting weirdly since a BSOD
i have been told i need to update the video bios. How do i do this

If the problem is in fact your video drivers, download and install Driver Cleaner, restart the computer in Safe Mode, run driver cleaner and remove the old video drivers. Restart the computer in normal mode and install the latest video drivers for your video card.

a video BIOS is not the same thing as a video driver although I don't know how to update it.
