What does dual slot mean?

I just ordered a graphic card (8800 GTS 320mb) and I figured out it is dual-slot. Deos this mean it takes up two PCI-E slots? I only have one 16x one. Thanks in advance.

No. it takes up the room of two slots. (I hope) The fan and cooler cover what would be a usable socket, but the card only requires one PCI-E socket
