What is the best budget graphics card for 3D modelling?

Hello, I want to make 3D models in programs like 3D max and Maya 2011 and I'd like to know what is the best budget card I can use? I'll have around 400USD to spend on it...

The graphic cards that are designed for 3D and game development are
- AMD FirePro
- NVIDIA Quadro

The Quadro are better and more powerful but very expensive so you may be able to get a lower end FirePro for $400

If you don't need solid support and drivers you can just use a desktop card.
