Hey all im from canada

I have a I7 4790k @ 4.4ghz
gtx 1080
16gb ram
256 gb hard drive ssd sata
500 gb hard drive non-ssd
750 watt power supply
msi motherboard
that pc recently died on me the power supply died and took everything with it. I put it on facebook marketplace and somone wants too buy it for 250 bucks to try and fix it.
im a casual gamer not hardcore I have a crappy Dell 17" monitor. model number is 176FP
now I was not planning to upgrade until 2025 then the pc died
so right now im using
i5 8400
16gd ddr4
256 gb ssd nvm
onboard video
its that pc but with smaller hard drive and more ram.
that lenovo pc I got for free from a co-worker.

im strapped for cash at the moment my budget is like 300 bucks. I have some gift cards too use at walmart also.

this is what I can get right now:

get a 1030 ddr5 gpu and use it until 2025 until it gives me time to save up for more cash and get a 14th gen or pc or downgrade?

https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/Deskto...ss-Keyboard-Mouse-HDMI-WIFI-Blue/3GHMT581HMV8 than add in a rx 6400 low profile

I would go with that Lenovo, add whatever graphic fits and save money for bigger upgrade on future.

Sell your dead PC ($250 good deal). For casual gaming on your low-res monitor:

  • Consider GTX 1030 (check benchmarks for your games first).
  • Explore alternatives: Used GTX 970/1060 (Kijiji.ca) for better performance.
  • Upgrade Lenovo RAM (if only 8GB) for smoother multitasking (Walmart).
This might hold you over until your planned 2025 upgrade!

I can only use gt 1030 in that lenovo pc its only one that fits. also there is also already 16gb of ram in that pc. the buyer backed out of the 250 deal. so I put it back on facebook. hope to sell this pc first.

MSI motherboard
Corsair 1200w power supply
24gb DDR4 ram

will need to get a hard drive maybe a graphics card.

Well, then package looks like OK.

I suggest used GPU and perhaps used hard drive and save for bigger upgrade for future.
thanks for your input
I figured out a hard drive 256gb ssd
just trying to figure out video.
these are the only 3 cards that I can afford, which one is good?

Depends on pricing. 3050 is fastest but probably most expensive too. Also not That fast anyway so I would take RX580 unless 1650 is much cheaper.

I got prices. hold on.

1650 -215.48
rx 580- 204.98
3050- 242.99

I can afford one of them.
1650 is totally out of question on that pricing.

But between RX580 and 3050 it's tough call. RX580 is much older one but still if you want to save money for better build, it's still cheaper.

Any chance for RX570 that is much cheaper?

im looking on amazon canada. they dont have any 570 all sold out. im thinking the rtx 3050 because its newer and will last me much longer.

Yeah, I also checked. RTX 3050 will not last Much longer but longer. If planning for upgrade I would take 580 just because it's cheaper. Tbh both choices are OK but both prices are horrible.

So the amd system is sold before I could get it.

I found this on amazon.ca
Acer Aspire Desktop TC-895-UA92, I5-10400, 12GB, 512GB- 276.62 used
going to change it to 16gb of ram also.

I found these used video cards also. I just dont know which one to choose.

these are the only ones I can afford

That desktop has crap quality PSU, so buy prebuilt one instead OEM one. Avoid troubles with graphic cards. If suitable is not immediately available, something will be soon.
