Whatever happened to the Alpha Shield hardware firewall?

  1. There use to be an official site where one could buy the Alpha Shield but I can't find it anymore. Does anyone know what became of this product or if it's useful? I've only heard good things about it.

    Jskid, I just ran across your question (on Oct.28, 2014!) I bought one in 2004...it worked well until three years later when we moved to the Niagara Peninsula, at which time the unit simply cut all access to the Net. A tech tried it, and said "Toss it." A rather expensive lesson.

    Haha I was still kind of wondering whatever became of them. They made some pretty bold claims about being hack proof.

    As of Win/7, the MS Firewall is nice, effective and free - - making all those 3rd party firewalls unnecessary.
    On XP, I ran Comodo, but since the upgrade, I've moved to the MS default.
