    Perhaps organizations like the Salvation Army might have some for sale. They must get donations of old PCs and laptops and some of them might not work.

    Any specific OS & does it need to be "in bulk"? Just curious

    Ok, I was asking because I have a HP Compaq Presario laptop that needs a harddrive which I can't afford & thought I'd ask.:)

    I'd suggest looking through and posting ads in your local papers. Craigslist might work too, if you'd rather not pay for the ad. I imagine plenty of businesses in your area are dumping machines all the time.
