I have a D-Link DWA-556 card, says it fits into any PCIe slot. My question...is there any advantage to plugging it in a PCIe x16 slot? Faster speed? Better connection?
    I have the following:

    Asus P6X58D-E

    PCIe x1 - open

    PCIe x16 - open

    PCI - open

    PCIe x16 - video card

PCI -sound (Soundblaster card, not working right...have sound, no EQ, etc)

    PCIe x16 - USB 3.0 card.

Does it matter where I stick the wifi card? It'll fit nicely into the top slot.

I haven't been shopping for sound cards yet...any help there? I'm on Win7 (64bit), have a great set of Logitech speakers and want some incredible sound.

    Thanks.

    It won't really fit.
    No won't make a difference.
Just stick it in the x1 like a normal person.
