I downloaded the WinAVI Video Converter 7.7, but haven't yet paid the $29.99. I converted a Quicktime video to a Windows Media File format. Aside from the annoying message in the middle of the screen, I didn't hear any sound. Is the lack of sound another built-in incentive to pay the $29.99? The reason I ask is that we've had lack of sound issues with another free software product.

    Thanks

there are better converters out there
Xilisoft is very good ,short learning curve
to convert most to some type of mpg use nero
don't render to dvd with nero takes to long

Which format you convert .mov to? You have that problem with other converter too.So that may not the issue with winavi.Check the codec you installed.
