Windows 11 23H2 update is affecting gaming performance, but Microsoft says there's a workaround

The whole premise of this story seems to rely on anecdotal claims. I have the "23H2" update, and haven't noticed anything different, performance wise. The games I play all run the same as before. With so many different computer configurations out there, you can never please everyone all at once. I tend to take these stories with a grain of salt. That is just my humble opinion.

Isn't the "tech savvy" advice these days - if you aren't running any virtual machines - disable SVM and the related virtualization options in BIOS for a performance boost?

I suspect that's why this "fix" is known and why general users who don't tweak the BIOS settings just keep it at the default of enabled and probably wouldn't run into this issue.

Windows 10 had its issues too. Windows 11 is still very new compared to 10. Lets not start acting like Windows 10 was all that. It had its problem but it has years on Windows 11, so its matured.
Technically speaking you are not wrong they both have issues closer to launch. However I also don't have a time machine I have to compare what is current. So Windows 10 being older and more mature has to factor in.

I didnt have any major issue with either OS. I never had anything break/stop working. Didnt have any performance issue that ruined or stppped my game from playing or just having fun.
Any performance issue , either I didnt notice or simply wasnt there. As far as I could tell, games played the same for me.

Just days after getting my shiny new gaming laptop as an early Christmas gift, I noticed the same thing with performance. Maybe not as drastic but a definite difference.

Step one after setup was disabling core isolation, and I had to disable virtualization in the bios to do it and then verify through system information.

Now they want me to re-enable it all? I highly doubt this is a coincidence to be honest.

And Linux is OUT for me, since I very much prefer to get the most from my laptop.

Maybe just roll back from the update and keep it that way.
