I installed kind of a security patch for XP onto 2000 pro by mistake, and after reboot, it shows the blue screen...and said 'there might be a virus or damages on hardwares'...something like that...but I know it's the patch that made the OS not working. But I do not know how to solve this problem..
I have to preserve all data safely.
could u help me?

I'm not sure you CAN install a patch meant for Windows XP on aW2K system. But if you did:

Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs> be sure 'show updates' is checked> uninstall the patch.

If necessary, you can do this in Safe Mode:

Boot into Safe Mode

* Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard.
* Select the Safe Mode option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.
