hey when i try to open Synaptic Package Manager, it doesnt open?

Gotta be root to opy synaptic package manager... you must be using KDE as windows manager. If that's the case install kynaptic and try that.

Heard a few good things about Ubuntu. Google has their eye on it, so that's gotta be something.

    were can i get kynaptic
  9. lewekleonek Newcomer, in training

Oh darn, no kynaptic anymore; seems like synaptic is all that's left; logout and login to the system with GNOME window manager; you should be prompted for the main user password (equivalent to root).
