Windows 7 RC's bi-hourly shutdowns begin on Monday

By Jos
Feb 24, 2010
  1. Just a quick heads up for those who signed up to run the Release Candidate (build 7100) version of Windows 7 and never upgraded to the final code: get going with that or prepared to be annoyed. Starting this Monday, March 1st, besides showing an expiration notification on the taskbar, your system will start to shut down every two hours and any unsaved work will be lost in the process.

  11. I used the extend command as described, and have just seen a pop up telling me I have 21 hours before my RC expires.
I am wondering if it extends it 30 hours not 30 days?

No, I think they ruined everybody's computer last week. Is that right..? Day 16 has to be the 3rd Tuesday in March, not the second.

    Super, you should be proud.
I think you're confusing lazy and ignorant with uneducated. Well, on second thought, "guest" is possibly all three.
