Windows installer not accessible by Admin acct

  1. Ok im hoping you guys can help me out with this... my buddies PC is posessed. When he tries to install anything he gets an error that says Windows installer is unaccessible by administrator or something to that effect. I tried booting into safe mode and apparently his admin acct still does not have access to it. Hes running Win2k. The specs as i know them for his PC are as follows:
    P4 2.4
    MSI Mobo
    1.5GB DDR
    6 Hdds
    DVD rom
    CDRW
    Enermax 350W PSU

Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Also while im posting i may as well ask about the other problem we hit with this demon machine. When i told him to install XP to see if that would fix it when he did XP only recognized a few of his HDDs and said they were all RAW data when in fact they all are NTFS holding lots of data. Some are plugged into the mobo and some are in a IDE Controller card. Any ideas about this? Thanks in advance for your help.
