Windows Vista and annoying crash problem

    My brother just got his new comp. which was bought for him to surf and use irc.
    Now the problem is the following: randomly the computer crashes, if youre listening to music the song lags and just jams on the background and the monitor gives "no signal", computer has to be forced and restarted.
    This happens 1-2 times a day and my brother keeps whining and calling me about this problem. I have tried to upgrade some drivers but none of this have done anygood.

    Help would be appreciated

    We would have to know a lot about the computer, motherboard, age, os, etc, as there is no sense reinventing the wheel you already have rolling.

    When u upgraded the Drivers, did u uninstall the existing ones 1st?

    As Raybay said, some specs would help!
