Windows vista won't update

  1. Hello, I have a laptop with Windows Vista Home Prem. It gets hung up on the updates and never downloads anything. The few times it has it never downloads microsoft sercurity def. but most of the time it does nothing . I am also haveing trouble going to so sites like google.It just times out.I did notice my recovery was 6.6g outta 8g ,, not sure why it's so full . I ran malwarebytes and it found nothing I also ran microsoft security essentials which found nothing. I would like to wipe it and re load windows but the windows key on the bottom has gotten to hot and you can't read it. Help plz

    Belarc Advisor is free to download and will give you the Windows Vista key. It's worth tackling the overheating issue because that soon kills laptops. Cleaning it out and/or renewing the heat paste should help.
