i will tell you what i have done. i format my hard dirsk, then i will install windows xp home. and like five mins later a message will come up saying i have viruses and and that there are errors in the reg. i try to install registry mechanic 4.0 and bit defender 9. is there a way i can make it go normal again

Usually simple format and re-installing Windows is enough to wipe the viruses. But sometimes you need the complete destruction of data, I think this is your case.
Don't forget about antivirus progs.
