windows xp problems

i dont know if this is a problem but its driving me crazy, i have just download updates and i asked me to restart my pc so i did then when i got to the desktop screen a yellow box with a ! appeared and said your computer has not been restarted since your last installed updates, then i click the box and it says updating your computer is almost complete. you must restart your computer for the updates to take effect, do you want to restart your computer now, so i restarted again but it is still saying it.

Sounds like the update did not take. I would try and find the update/s and uninstall them, and try downloading them again.

Do a restore to a date before the update. Check if they have anything to say about it on MS.
