Windows XP Professional License not working

my computer crash. I format it, and reinstall the windows xp professional from disk. however, they said that the product key is invalid, and previously it works when i install it on this pc years ago. wonder what's going on and how to solve this. Thanks!

you need a new key, my friend... how you acquire it is your business..

also, are you sure you typed it right, and are you sure it's a WinXP PRO serial and not WinXP HOME serial?

If you could install with your key when you first used it, it will continue to work again now. If you are saying that you can'y activate it because it says the key is invalid, but you know that you have a genuine copy of windows, you must phone Microsoft to resolve the problem.
