windows xp recovery hiccup

  1. well -
i have been in various stages of recovery for the last several hours. I have been in DOS, booted from cd - and now am thinking of a support group (you guys)...
I crashed my system apparantly because i deleted too much at one time, this is my guess as it was the last thing i did before restarting and experiencing my current problem. My computer hangs or freezes on the windows xp logo which appears before the logon screen. I have tried the directions step for step listed at the top of this forum - but do not have an option to repair xp after the initial window - and the user agreement..i don't know dos - so trying to troubleshoot in this mode is difficult. safeboot doesn't work either - i end up w/ the same problem. any tips?
    thanks in advance

you have to type R in the welcome screen after your system boots from your cd (i keep having to say this ;0) )

Boot from your XP install CD, take item 1 to install windows and then accept the second offer to repair windows.
