Please help me with the following error which is generated each time Windows XP restarts randomly

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x1000008e (0xc0000005, 0xf980aa30, 0xaaa0bcb0, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini032207-03.dmp.

Many thanks in advance,
Gagan

Hi gagan

A good thing to try would be the error-checking tools Microsoft has pre-installed on your system. Go to Start>Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt. From the Command Prompt hit cd\ and type chkdsk /f. After it asks you if you want to schedule a scan hit Y and reboot.

This will check your disk drive for inconsistencies and fix them if it can. Hope that helps!

Did you make any changes before you started getting this error? Any hardware or driver changes?

These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues (which sometimes means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade). Test your memory, your processor, graphics card and swap your power supply (if you have an extra one). Go to Downloads at TechSpot for some test utilities.
