Hi guys,

I'm trying to but up my laptop and I'm getting a blue screen of death:::

"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent
damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen restard your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Technical Information:

*** STOP: 0X0000024 (0X001901FD, 0X84DE57E0, 0XC0000032, 0X00000000)"

I'm running windows XP on a laptop and it won't even boot up in safemode!

Now the big problem I have is that the DVD drive on the laptop is damaged so I can not run the recovery CD. I have a USB DVD drive but ofcourse cause windows won't boot up I can't use that...

Any advice?

You can enable boot from USB in you BIOS, then boot into the USB DVD drive. I would suggest repairing your OS, details can be found here.

Could you tell me how to boot from USB in BIOS?

My bios is only giving me 3 different options:::

Disabled
IDE-0
Ethernet
