Wiped My Drive

I used fdisk to reformat my C drive without realising that it didn't support NTFS, so instead it wiped my completely separate D drive containing all my data files. It must have tried for the nearest drive that was FAT32

Is there ANY remote chance of retrieving the files or have I not a cat in hell's chance?

    Any advice greatly appreciated

You could try some data recovering software to see if you see can salvage any of those files that were on the formatted drive. I'm not really familiar with any software that does this, maybe other readers are and can recommend you a program to use. But if you want that data back, you can dish out money for software and cross your fingers and hope it works. Here is one piece of software I came across, only thing is, it costs money, I don't know if you can get any decent programs that are free to do the trick.
