Alright - network gurus. This should be an easy one.

I have a home network set up - 2 computers.
I am running XP pro on both machines.
Computer 1 - Wiresless NIC (D-Link DWL-G510)
Computer 2 - Hardwired

Router - WRT54G

Have no problems 90% of the time. I can see both computeres. I can see the internet...

BUT

If the computer with the D-Link Wireless NIC (computer 1) sits idle for a couple of hours, the connection is down. The taskbar icon tray says that I am connected to the wireless network. However, I can not connet to the internet. Computer 2 (hardwired to the router) still connects.

So, the question is - is the wireless PCI card timing out... is the wireless router giving up ?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Benjamin

Alright, I lie...... both computers will loose connection to the network....

I give up... this computer...haaarrrkk.....is going through the window.

Take it easy it isn't that bad !
Most routers have a setup page and there you should see something that refers to "keep alive" or something similar .
Just make sure it is Checked.
