WOF: Project Spartan, MS Edge, would you use a Microsoft browser again?

I've been using the preview for a while now and project spartan is pretty much like they took Firefox and slapped on material design and cortana.

I would use it, my main browser is Opera, but sometimes I have to use Chrome for compatibility reasons, I would uninstall Chrome in a heart beat if Edge comes to be a good browser

Exactly, nothing would bring me more joy than ditching chrome on my windows machines.

Even though FF crashes more then chrome it has better layout and is less intrusive. I only use IE for compatibility and chrome as a backup.

Yes, at least in the desktop. I had to add 8gb of memory just to keep running Chrome

Currently using Waterfox or Cyberfox on A 64 bit win 7. Also trying the third build of Vivaldi but it's still a work in progress. I guess I'll try Edge but have liked Waterfox and Cyberfox too much to really use anything else full time.

I use Chrome on desktop and have an android phone, so use chrome there as well. BUT I am satisfied with neither, but the only reason I stick to them is because of the seamless sync. History, Tabs, Bookmarks, they're ALWAYS ready to go, without exception. I have tried other solutions including firefox on both devices, Xmarks etc, but nothing syncs as reliably, and that is why im stuck with chrome.

Chrome on desktop is meh okayish, but on android, performance is pretty bad, even on a Nexus 5

I find chrome on my android perfect. It has smart gestures and awesome ui. While on my desktop I prefer opera.
So I suggest you to try opera on both, it also syncs seemlessly and more or less gives same percormance.

No one can answer this question until it is actually out, anyone who says no at this stage just because it is Microsoft is a fool.

IE is horrible but will wait for Edge to come out in full release before making a decision.
Im liking it, cant wait till its well done. Chrome fails when I go to print a lable. I do like the chrome password recall so I use chrome.

Currently using Chrome because of it's speed and comfort. Will use EDGE if it uses less RAM than Chrome and will still be fast. IE's main problem was it's slowness.
Will wait'n'see

On my mobile devices I avoid Chrome all together as I have read it drains the battery faster than anything and use IE instead. On my desktops its Chrome all the way..

I don't think I would as my main browser. I still like firefox so I'll stick with that, but I have upgraded IE to my second rarely used browser. I'll try spartan out but will probably ignore it after a bit.

As so many have said, it will entirely depend on the product. If Microsoft does their all too typical approach of putting lipstick on a pig, I won't go back. If they show us some superior programming and a great product, I'll give it a chance. It's entirely in their hands!

For some reason I dont ever feel satisfied on Opera. I absolutely love Firefox, used to use it before I got an android phone, but it's sync is really wonky.

I'll see how MS Edge and Windows 10 goes. If in the future I get a Windows 10 phone, might end up using Edge all around

I switched to Firefox, then I switched to Chrome.

I like Chrome because it synchs with my Android phone and I like the Google echosystem for mail, space, etc.

Will I switch to "edge"? I doubt it, no reason too. It would have to totally blow my *** out of the water to get me to switch to it, which isn't going to happen so whatever. That doesn't mean it sucks or anything, just that I am happy where I am, so why change?

For me?
I don't care if browser takes less ram or not.
IDC if looks pretty and addons are not important as well.

Privacy is most important for me, then configuration options.

From the first day of release, my web browser is Lunascape and will be for a long time I guess.
Also instead of google, I use duckduckGo.

Best combo I've ever tested and believe me I tried all of them :)

I will try Definitely Edge. It also fact that most windows user are using IE.
Chrome & Fox are used because of their add-ons.
As you can use add-ons of fox & crome I think Edge will kill Both.
Sand-box should be Default in Edge.

Yes, they were convicted of using their illegal monopoly to aquire their 90% market share. They never had a better browser.

For the record: IE became dominant because:
  1. it shipped with windows
  2. windows developers adopted MS apis and created software that would only run in IE.
  3. developers began the bad habit of "sniffing" the User-Agent string and if it did not imply IE, they produced Pop-Ups; This Site supports IE version x.y
  4. ActiveX (soon to be DOA with Edge) became a defacto standard when in fact it was only accepted in the MS world.
Other third party browsers (remember Netscape - - the folks that created the html client), FF, Opera, Chrome, Camino - - all took the W3C path but had an uphill battle getting market traction. After more than a decade now, MS has finally joined the flock on adoption internet standards.

The results today for web developers is the axiom:
"test with every browser possible or your users will suffer".

MS ought to fix their font rendering engine too, because it doesn't matter what your browser is, all pages look like crap compared to the same pages rendered with iOS or Android.

The more competition the better... so yes I would totally try it.
now, would I stay loyal to the new comer...? I guess that will depend on how much I will enjoy the experience or not.
bottom line is; I don't say no without testing, etc.
