A while ago the power went off while my computer was on. Since, i can't get it to boot. It goes just past where it says verifying pool data, then to the next blank screen and it freezes. Even if i try to boot to a windows cd, it freezes on a blank screen and i can hear the fans wind up. Any suggestions?

    My specs:

    Asus A7n8x
    Athlon XP 3200+
    1 gig Corsair Platinum DDR400 (2x512)
    Nvidia Geforce 4 ti4200 128mb
    Audigy 2 Platinum pro zx

there were 2 maxtor 120 and 160 drives in there when the crash happened but i bought a brand new western digital 160gb and tested that as well with the same results.

I've also tried flashing the bios but i still get the same result.

Google and get memtest and see if that will run and test your ram!!!!

    Tutorial: How to use Memtest

Take out any uneccesary components: expansion cards etc. so you just have a barebones setup. Try booting up now. See if you can access BIOS and confirm all your drives are picked up properly and temps and voltages are ok.

Take a look inside your PC and see if there's any burns or unusual smell etc.
