xp loading mod

  1. my buddys 98se system has a custom windows 98 loading screen that he made. is it possible to do that in xp?

    Yep, sure is. But you need to do so through a third party program. Search google for "Custom boot screen xp" to get all sorts of links.

    I ran across this one which looks promising- however I've never used it so beware- could be a virus program for all I know.. http://www.stardock.com/products/bootskin/ I've heard of Stardock before and not in a bad way, though...

    Edit: Also, when I did this way back when to my old laptop, I recall using a Theme program to do it- one of the more popular ones. LIke StyleXP or something?? If you use themes in your window managers, you might check that software to see if you can change the screens through it.
