zip/powerdesk not wanting to open .exe files

    when i tried to download hijack this, it downloads as a zip. i can open the zip but when i try to open the program it says hijackthis.exe is not a valid application. this happens with all my zip dowloads. please, how do i fix?

    Where did you get hijackthis from? Post the link to the site.
    Try different zip application; a good and really free one (free as in open source) can be found here http://www.7zip.org
    Sometimes other zip programs have problems dealing with some zip archives.
