I replaced the original Xorg with Xgl and compiz. The desktop is now using OpenGL hardware acceleration.

It's got the same kind of eye candy effects as Vista or OSX 10.4.

Dragging resize handle in fullscreen applications (even TV) causes the window to flip like a page in a book.

Transparent windows also work correctly on top of overlay video etc.
