It might look like much but there was "only" 1GB of PC2100 Crucial Ram ( 4 x 256mb ). Even if certain people have more Ram then that nowadays, it's no use putting more then you will ever use.

Well at the time Intel's greatest was the 2GHZ Willamette. The choice was pretty obvious.

Thats what forums are for opinons.And besides my comments are negative to the things that i know is good or bad.Im not knocking no one im saying i know intels are better then amd at the time and i know sum of the progams on the other post that guy had on his desktop is bad for xp and its proven that they are bad for xp i would know i have been a tech for 15 years .So before u get into sum flaming forum war with me look at what your saying and look at what im saying there just opinons....

I suggest you lighten up and stop taking everything so negative on what i post.

Your telling me that the amd 1800+(1.53) vs the intel 2.0 ghz was better @ the time look @ the specs on both these chips again guy..

Far as you flaming my job i bet u anything im bringing home more a week then u could in a month..What you do for a living ?Sit home and read postings in forums all day trying to start something ? Give me a break go flame someone else im to busy to be worring about someone who thinks they know all in the computer world..

A 2GHZ Willamette had a hard time keeping up with a 1.4GHZ Thunderbird so yes, I do believe & know for a fact that the 1800+ AThlonXP was far better then the 2GHZ P4 available at the time.

& I do not work, I'm a student so it would be sad if you didn't bring home more then me. What is sad however, is how you can't even come with good arguments when faced with a "simple student" when you're supposed to be an experienced tech. I don't wanna start to imagine what it must be like when you're faced with a real challenge.

I do not claim to know everything about the computer world ( far from it ) but I do not criticize things that I do not know & try to look experienced. Browse the forums & you'll notice everyone will say they've been in this business for years or that they've been setting PCs since they were 5. Doesn't really mean it's true.

Keep posting here if you like ( it's a free forum :wink: ), but you haven't given me a good opinion of your knowledge & there isn't much you could do to change that opinion.

Hey Brill Rig man, I wish mine was as tidy as that. Those Rounded IDE cables are wicked, I'm still stuck with the old Ribbon cables. They're really blocking up my circulation inside the PC.

I'm thinking of getting a Lian Li case, they look real nice and slick. By the way it's a good Idea you have 4 x 256 instead of 2x 512 or something causde they dont get as hot. Nice 1! Errr Lastly, is that an enermax PSU you got there?

As far as The 4 operations per clock cycle Athlon XP @ 1.53 vs the Willamette core on its quickly binned socket configuration the XP won more than 50% of the benchmarks done. It may not have been a clear cut victory but at the time it was a better solution for a lower cost.

In fact at that time I was running a 1.4Ghz Athlon Thunderbird and it wasn't far off the performance of the 2Ghz Willamette CPU.

The case is quite nice indeed. Especially the Hard Drive bay. I have to say that Rounded IDE Cables are very over-rated. If you run Flat Ribbon Cables behind the CD-ROM bays then back to the Drives/Discs they are almost completely hidden from sight and if routed correctly will allow even better airflow than in this case. One thing I would like to see on a power supply is removeable power internal leads. Most times you do not have to use all the molex connectors and then they have to be buried somewhere. A good option would be to have them able to be plugged in as needed to the back of the power supply. Less cables means more room and better airflow hopefully. Anyway I'm getting off the track - nice Pc Didou.

I've got the same exact case, I'm amazed its been around so long!

I guess Lian-Li's show their experience in the test of time.
