I believe my FPS back then was around 45 while running around and 38 when fighting, also the settings were maxed there and I had 2048x2048 resolution pack on the LOD and the high res texture pack ( qarl ), the only thing that was low-res was the water because it would cause a weird texture pattern with the LOD on some locations.
