I software oveclocked my 8500GT so that it is close to these specs except faster memory clock.



Default Core: 459MHz , Core: 600MHz

Default Mem: 400MHz , Mem: 504MHz

Default Shader: 988MHz, Shader: 1188MHz



16 Unified Shaders, 115 sq. mm die

i would overclock this one, but the heatsink supplied with has a hard time keeping it cool at these settings.

8600's are hard to keep cool, I couldn't overclock an 8600 as much as I did to this 8500. (By percentage increase, not really speed values)

The heatsink that came with it is microscopic, i got a huge one for it now, it idles at 34C, and full blast is 43C.

Ohh ya, obi-wan, according to tom's hardware, two SLI'd 8500GT's aren't even as fast as a single 8600GT.
