Now this may look like just a three plug extension cord, but it actually is plugged into a power bar which powers my whole entertainment center, 42" LCD, 500 watt amp, PS3, 100 watt sub, cable box, VCR... okay the last two are nominal, heck the VCR hasn't been used in years. Plugged into the cord you see there is two laptops, a 20" CRT, a 19" LCD, another PS3, a network switch and a bunch of auxiliary fans used to keep the electric components in the tv stand from overheating, ie the PS3 and amplifier.

(*110W x 6 = ...660W*) from PC's, Monitors are probably lotz more... You should be glad youre in the basement, youre probably right next to the circuit breaker!

*WTF, I must have been thinking volts? 1500w is kind of a lot. You should really get some extension cords instead of pulling 1500W from one WALL SOCKET!

Actually i had made a rough estimate of how much power was being sucked by everything plugged in and it came up to about 1500 Watts, all of which is plugged into a single plug, that plug is of course the only plug on a breaker so it was at its limits.
