Using bottle caps wasn't good enough! Elevating the laptop a few cm over the taple reduces the heat.

Either have the fans spin up faster/sooner or get the new Penryn based version which is said to be running much cooler.

Wow... Just as I would expect from Apple... a laptop that doesn't cool itself properly...



Not to say that problem is unique to Apple... just that I'm not surprised that theirs have that problem...

Well it stems from the fact that they set the fans to run as law as possible & the casing of the laptop itself being in aluminum is being used to dissipate heat. When I intend to run intensive programs such as encoders/converters as I use a laptop stand/elevator (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/elevator) but for general use web surfing, office documents editing I can use it on any hard surface for hours without problems.

Or you can buy one of those things you put ur laptop on and it has a fan or soemthing...
