I truly believe gateway are the best desktop computers. I bought this one back in 99/2000 tho. It shipped with 92megs of ram, and the intel intergraded graphics, 16vfam i believe. Over the years i have been upgrading it, from 92megs of ram to 512mb which is the max. I also have been upgrade from the radeon 7000 to fx5500 to now the 8400gs. I always kept the 90watts PSU, that seems to be holding up pretty good since 2000.

On 2 other notes:

#1 None of the GTA games or a few other games work good if i do not have the " Intel application accelerator install ". I don't know if you know about the program, but it helps speed up your hd and games. Its only for intel chips btw. or older ones like this 810 chip. For the newer chips , i think they have newer accelerators from intel.

#2 For the past 3-4 years, there was a major bottleneck on my system which i knew nothing about. It was cause by my external HD being hook up to the back of the USB 2.0 PCI card. Now that its free, well gaming performance went up about 30-40%.

So for a p3 is pretty good. I am going to buy a p4 for my next rig tho, just go one step up.

peace
