I'm playing around with virtual machines, and this is Windows ME running on Virtual PC 2007.

Windows ME was the least popular OS from Microsoft, considered by many a simple update of Win98.

Never had winme before, but i was using windows98se from 1999-early 2008. Windows 2000 is the best OS imo, and next is XP which is the fastest. I say people should just use w2k instead of windows98se, because win2k can play the new games and old games just fine.

I agree that Windows 2k is a lot better than Win98, and XP is more stable than Vista.

But w2k is an old OS now, and it wasn't meant for home users at all, so I would think that it's not a great gaming system (haven't tried it, though). And there were never as good hardware support as in XP.

Well i use xp for my Pentium III right now , but i have also use w2k also. Xp is more faster, much more faster talking about maybe 50% faster, and about maybe 15% more faster in games. Windows2000 is just more stable with games, older games that is. But yea you are right, xp is better overall, but w2k is cool also. It doesn't support as many features because the service packs stopped at sp4 with that update rollup.

I guess its best to use xp or vista as the main os for your main rig, but if you have a secondary rig go with w2k.
