i was trying to fix my friends very old pc so they could give it the there wee sister. but when i turn it on it plays 5 beeps which is processor failure. but i dont no how to take this type of cpu out.

that's a slot 1 cpu to remove push in the tabs on both sides if it has any.This is not a ZIF cpu so some force may be required.if there arn't any tabs just pull stright up.

I'm almost positive that that is a 450 MHz P3. I have the EXACT same CPU lying around somewhere in my basement.

Those white tabs on the side, pull one out and pull that side of the cpu out just enough to keep the tab from clicking back in place. Do it to the other side, and slide it out. To reinstall, just push in. Looks like a dell cpu, all dell slot 1's and 370's used those heatsinks. Its a p3, probalby 850mhz or 1ghz.
