ohhh baby... wouldn't you want the videocard to be in the topmost slot, closer to the processor?

Well having it closer to the CPU could actually influence the CPU temps as it keeps the ambient air warmer but in any case, the AGP slot is lower on this motherboard so I had no choice. The slots you see closer to the CPU is an upgrade slot & a PCI-e 16x slot (for further upgrades).

You need a CPU Fan, but besides that looks good.

This board does not do SLI. All those jumpers are for a daughter board which supports AM2 CPUs & DDR-II memory.

I have this exact mobo. You can upgrade to an AM2 CPU with DDR2 memory by adding in an extra card into the slot that looks like an AGP slot at the top. The card that you add in has 4 memory slots and a CPU AM2 socket. The CPU and DDR2 and HSF are all mounted onto this board to run in AM2 mode. Naturally the board has metal braces around the edges to stop it from collapsing under the weight of the HSF.

I like the placements of the IDe cables for this board..... What are those things on the right side of the RAM slots?

Just markings on the board, there aren't any real components there.
