does btm mean the mobo is supposed to be upside down? looks like the video card will get a little more air like that.

The gpu hsf will probally get less heatsoak when it is in its reagular position, i like that how the mobo is flipped, is there many btx based cases out? Not Oem, and dont you have to have a fairly new mobo to take advantage of the mounting holes?

there are not many retail BTX boards out there. I think Dell and Gateway use them in (some) there desktop lineups.

When ATX was designed, no one expected to have 3000mhz CPUs puttin off heat.

I read this in maximum pc mag, and i guess amd isnt going to jump onto the btx bandwagon like many companies with intel chips, cause Amd still has room to grow temp wise in OEM comps with the Cool 'and quite setting on. But many OCers would probally want to, cause just Ocing w/o watercooling pushes high case temps.

But some highend companies have a btx alternative, like i think Falcon computers, ive seen a few of there custom comps, with the mobo flipped upside down, and psu in the front lower courner, but it didnt have the nice front ducting, and closer north and south bridges like a regular btx mobo would.

I suppose you could mod a system to the point where you could put an ATX in upside down, just stick it on the opposing side of the case?

a lot of work, but not impossible...

Antec Nine Hundreds mount the PSU on the bottom of the case. Although, they are still ATX form factor.

Wow the post jump almost a whole year... still i see no clear advantage to the BTX design, I can understand how it can keep the cpu cooler but the rest of the components seem to be left out of the cooling process, with a good aftermarket cpu cooler I would believe it would be just as effective and the rest of the components wont be left out either, I'm not claming to understand completely how BTX improves cooling but thats just my opinion.
