Broadband Gets a Popularity Boost

By

More home users are accessing the Internet at high speeds. That's according to a recent study by Nielsen/NetRatings, which shows that the number of home Internet users connecting via broadband has increased by 27 percent in six months (US figures).

The increase is largely due to price declines and the increased efforts by ISPs to promote their broadband services, Nielsen/NetRatings says.

On a related note, good news for Thomas and the rest of our Irish readers, The Reg reports Ireland is getting cheaper broadband.

  1. Awesome! :) This is another step closer to online gaming becoming much more enjoyable.
  2. I work at a Computer tech store and I've noticed that everyone is switching over to High speed, we must get atleast 5 people a day in the store to have us set up there DSL or Cable connections. 5 may not sound like a lot but it is when theres only 15,000 people in the town. I agree Agissi I can't wait for some solid online gaming
