Meta-mail - the future of e-mail?

"Esther Dyson talks with ZDNet Editor-in-Chief Dan Farber about "meta-mail," her term for the extension of e-mail into a broader set of tools that can manage processes and the user's attention, instead of just information and content."

Meta-mail will apparently do for e-mail what the spreadsheet did for the calculator. I wonder if it will still get spam. The webpage centers on a video download of the interview.
