Bungie's latest Xbox project gets a noteworthy place in the history books for selling 2.4 million units in its first 24 hours of North American release and grossing up to $125 million. The game now ranks among the other greats, and Halo 2 has almost certainly already broken any sales figures made by its predecessor, Halo 1. So far this year's biggest seller is Madden NFL 2005, with more than four million units sold. Still, these games still aren't a patch on the the best-selling game of all time, Super Mario 64, with a $308 million gross over its life to date.
