Alienware have announced the second generation of their DHS Series media center system, in the form of the DHS 2 Series. This comes with DVD recorder, CD recorder, DVR, Tuner and Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, all for the bargain price of $1400. Other key specs include:

-Pentium 4 520 processor (3.0 GHz)
-ATI Radeon X300 PCI Express graphics card
-80 GByte harddisk

The DHS 2 Series can be ordered with dual standard definition TV tuners, which essentially permits one to record from two different channels at once. Available immediately in North America, this new entertainment system from Alienware is also available with faster processors and more storage as part of a high end version. The system will be launched in Europe early in 2005.
