PSP not to reach Europe until September

News is reaching us that the PSP won't be available in Europe until the 1st of Septemer. Sony has confirmed that there will be a delay in the launch, caused by "allocation issues." The PSP was originally slated to launch in Europe in the summer. Amazon recently confirmed that availability of the PSP from themselves would only commence after 30th September.

Stores in many European countries have been showing off the PSP in window displays for months and even taking pre-orders for the device. It's not clear how retailers will react to the new release date that is scheduled over five months after the PSP's debut in the United States.

Seemingly, some users just can't wait to get their grubby little paws on the PSP, and have obtained the new consoles via the "grey market" and other sources.
