The instant messaging service Yahoo Messenger will get a welcome enhancement when it gets improved PC-to-PC voice communication capabilities, it has been revealed. The current system of "walkie-talkie" like communication will be replaced with a persistent connection, meaning that users will no longer have to wait turns to speak. Instead, they will have a service that provides a constant connection and a good voice quality, which Yahoo claims will be sustainable even when using dial-up connections. There will be a number of new features in this new version as well, including improved photo sharing, better image quality, a new interface onto which photos can be dragged and dropped, and the ability to grab photos from anywhere on the hard drive.
