Microsoft and Marvel sign game deal

Microsoft has made a deal with Marvel Comics (which owns the rights to characters like Spiderman) to put Spiderman, the Incredible Hulk and some 5,000 other superheroes, villains and other characters on to Microsoft's next-generation games console, the Xbox 360. The deal will mean that no Marvel MMO can appear on the PlayStation 3 or Revolution.

"Online gaming is reaching a point of acceptance. We will use as many of the Marvel characters as we can" in the MMO game, said Peter Moore, corporate vice president of worldwide marketing and publishing for Microsoft's Xbox.
The games will take some time to appear, though, with the release of the first titles not expected until 2008.
